Apartment 11 Productions is pleased to announce that Araya Mengesha, one of the hosts of popular series, Mystery Hunters, won a Gemini Award for Best Host in a Pre-School, Children’s or Youth Program or Series.

Araya Mengesha is one of the hosts in the series who set out to explore some of the world’s greatest myths and mysteries. He won this year’s Gemini Award for his work on the episode entitled “Mysterious Legends: Ark of the Covenant.” In it, he treks through Ethiopia in search of the priceless Ark of the Covenant. While on his journey, Araya is aided by local kids, guides, and scholars who direct him towards the priceless artifact. He scales mountains and crosses hippopotamus-filled rivers in his search for the truth. In the end, Araya finds, but is not allowed to see, the real Ark of the Covenant. However, as he partakes in a ritual with hundreds of local citizens, he realizes that he is not disappointed with the fact that he does not get to see the Ark; he experiences its power through witnessing the strong and pure belief of all the people who have faith in it.
