MIAM! DISTRIBUTION SECURES WORLDWIDE RIGHTS

Apartment 11’s OLGA has been commissioned in Canada by CBC/Radio-Canada and TFO, and in Belgium by VRT.

MIAM! distribution has come on board as the worldwide distributor.  The series has already secured its first presale with NPO (Netherlands) through MIAM! distribution.

Aimed at kids aged 6 to 9, OLGA is a 2D animated adaptation of award-winning author and illustrator Elise Gravel’s bestselling graphic novel series Olga, published by HarperCollins and translated into 11 languages.

OLGA is an international co-production between Apartment 11 (Canada) and Fabrique Fantastique (Belgium). The series has already sparked strong interest and impressive enthusiasm, ranking among the Top 10 projects pitched at Cartoon Forum 2025.

When Olga, a 10-year-old budding zoologist who would rather hang out with animals than humans, discovers a strange, stinky creature obsessed with people, her “scientific” mission to study it forces her into the wildest environment of all… human connection! What starts as an experiment may turn into her first real attempt at friendship.

As further evidence of its strong market potential OLGA was selected for the Kidscreen Licensing Challenge 2026, where the series was recognized among the five IPs identified for their untapped market potential. Competing in front of some of the licensing industry’s most experienced executives, this selection highlights OLGA’s strong commercial prospects.

Marie McCann, Senior Director, Children’s Content at CBC Kids shares her excitement for this new acquisition: This was literally our last pitch at Kidscreen last year and we instantly fell in love with how Olga’s Austen-esque eyerolls are punctuated with her pet alien’s flatulence. We hope this gem from one of Montreal’s most beloved creators will find its way into hearts at home and abroad.”

Jonathan Finkelstein, Founder of Apartment 11: “Olga is not only a great story with relatable characters, but also a big brand with global potential. Every child in the world can recognize a part of themselves in Olga, who at 10, prefers the company of animals to humans. We have found a great partner in MIAM! and look forward to bringing Olga’s adventures to viewers everywhere.”

With its bold, quirky female lead, OLGA fits perfectly with MIAM! distribution’s editorial line. The series explores self-acceptance, emotional honesty, and curiosity. It reflects MIAM! distribution’s DNA through real, relatable characters, stories told with humour, and imaginative worlds created by passionate and committed authors.

Hanna Mouchez, CEO at MIAM! distribution: Olga moved us! She is a young girl we are not used to seeing on screen: introverted yet widely curious. Her scientific distance and difficulty with social codes make her both vulnerable and strong. We are proud to welcome her into the MIAM! distribution catalogue and to give space to this singular voice alongside other independent and free-thinking heroines.”

The series joins MIAM! distribution’s slate of kids’ programs, alongside best-selling titles such as the quirky comedy Goat Girl (26×11’); the 2D adaptation of popular book collections The MiniWhats (52×7’); and the original creation The Dangers (10×13’).

Tom Van Gestel Fabrique Fantastique : “We chose to partner with MIAM! distribution because it is a European distributor with a strong focus on youth content. The team has a deep expertise in bringing bold, character-driven series to audiences across international territories. We’re incredibly excited to bring one of Elise Gravel’s most delightful characters to life for the very first time”.
